Pr Gérard saillant, MD

Advisory board

Professor Gérard Saillant is a specialist in sports medicine. He was head of the orthopedic and trauma surgery department at the CHU La Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris, where he worked for 30 years between his appointment as professor in 1977 and his resignation in 2005. He was also dean of the Medical Faculty of the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital between 1998 and 2005. Today he is President and founding member of the Paris Brain Institute (ICM). He has been involved in politics and professional sports, having been an advisor to the French Minister of Sports and the official physician of the French Olympic team for the 1980-90’s Olympic Games. His extensive experience in sports medicine has led him to operate on internationally renowned athletes. He is also a member of the medical board of the Parisian football club PSG.

Dr Vincent Wagner, PhD

Advisory board

Vincent obtained his PhD in Biotechnology in 1990. He has conducted university research in five countries (France, Italy, Netherlands, USA, Switzerland). Over the past 25 years, Vincent has held positions in senior management (Director, Senior Director, Vice President) for several large multinational companies in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and medical device industries. More recently Vincent has worked as a consultant and/or lecturer for the University Hospitals of Geneva, World Health Organization, University of Applied Sciences, and the Inartis / University of Geneva Translational Accelerator at the Faculty of Medicine. Vincent holds his Bachelor and Master in Biology (Arizona, USA), PhD in Biotechnology (University of Lyon), and US-NSF postdoctoral studies in molecular biology (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA).

Christophe Guichard

Christophe is dedicating his energy and passion to develop and manage life science startups to translate their innovation into products providing superior benefits to patients. Christophe is General Partner of the Eclosion Ventures Fund and manages CFO & CBO leadership responsibilities at Netris Pharma. He also serves on the Board of Directors of GeNeuro and innovative dermatological startups. Prior to joining Netris Pharma, Christophe was Director of the Geneva Life science incubator – which led the development of more than 30 companies including three IPOs - and served as Innosuisse coach. He started his career at Salustro Reydel / KPMG as financial auditor before contributing to the successful story of Trader Classified Media. Christophe is a graduate from Harvard Business School, holds a MS in management from EDHEC Business School and financial and Accounting Expertise diploma (DESCF).

Dr Kamel Besseghir, MD

Advisory board

Kamel graduated as MD, and started his career as a general practitioner during 2 years. He then joined the Institute of Pharmacology of the School of Medicine of Lausanne, first as Medecin-Assistant, then as Maître-Assistant and Privat-Docent, where he worked on the basic mechanisms of drug handling and elimination during 15 years, in collaboration with different academic institutions. In 1989 he joined the AresSerono laboratories in Geneva as International Manager, Pharmacovigilance. He then moved to Debiopharm, a drug development company in Lausanne, holding different positions, from Medical Director, to Vice-President Research and Evaluation, to CEO of the company. Kamel has an overview of the practical aspects of drug development and its strategy, from its preclinical aspects and pharmaceutical production organization, to the clinical evaluation from phase 1 to phase 3, with the necessary interactions with Regulatory Agencies.
